Framily

Framily - friends that become family.

As some of you know, I have been volunteering with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention for quite a few years. Being a part of this organization has brought so many amazing people into my life. These are people who became a part of this organization because they are passionate about saving lives. They’ve either lost someone to suicide, attempted suicide themselves, love someone who deals with thoughts of suicide, or know the impact of suicide in some other way.

Sunday evening, one of these amazing friends of mine, knowing we could all use some Framily time, put together a Zoom meeting for us to hang out, share and just be together in the only way we could. We shared about our pits and peaks from the week. We laughed together, cried together and were simply there for each other. We just allowed each other to be messy. Each person then took a moment to share a few words of hope with the group.

These men and women are in the fight to saves lives from suicide every day. They dedicate a piece of their existence to training and advocating. Another piece creates a safe place for a friend in need of help even when they are hurting.

Sunday, these warriors took a breather from the battle to be there for their fellow soldiers. No pressure. Just shared love, encouragement and strength.

They are each Hope Influencers in their communities. Tonight, they were Hope Influencers for each other. For me.

I am so honored to be a part of such a “wow” group of people.
